Clique Borrel (Borrel is Dutch for drinks 😉 ) was founded in 2020 by Roderick, Niels, and Floris, with the vision to create a networking event just for MICE sales and marketing professionals. The inaugural event was scheduled for April 17, 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was unfortunately canceled. After several rescheduled dates and further cancellations, the highly-anticipated first edition took place on April 8, 2022, at Capital Kitchen Amsterdam. The event was a big success, with over 100 attendees celebrating this milestone.

In 2023, Niels and Floris decided to build upon the momentum of Clique Borrel, planning a new edition of the “borrel” to keep the Dutch MICE sales & marketing profs connected with each other.
