Back in 2020, three friends—Roderick, Niels and Floris—wanted something different: a hotel-neutral networking night where people could simply mingle, share a drink and talk shop without enduring dull presentations or endless speeches about hotel openings.
They called it Clique Borrel (“borrel” is Dutch for drinks), and that easy-going vibe became the DNA of every Clique event.
The first gathering was scheduled for 17 April 2020, but the pandemic forced a pause. Two years and several postponements later, on 8 April 2022, more than 100 MICE professionals finally came together at Capital Kitchen in Amsterdam—and discovered how relaxed, welcoming networking could be.
Throughout 2023, Niels and Floris kept the momentum alive with regular Dutch editions that helped the local MICE sales and marketing community stay connected.
In 2024, Clique took its formula abroad, hosting an international meet-up at IBTM in Barcelona.
Today Clique is much more than an after-work drink:
