How long does scanning my location take?
An average hotel or office takes 4 to 6 hours. Large conference centres or complex buildings can take a full day. We always schedule enough time so no space is missed.
Does my location need to be closed during the shoot?
No. We prefer to work in the morning or during quiet periods to minimise disruption to guests or staff.
How long before my tour is live?
After the scan, the data is processed within 3 to 5 business days. You then receive the embed code and a direct link so you can publish straight away.
Where is the tour hosted?
All tours are hosted on Matterport's secure servers, so no hosting is needed on your side. Annual maintenance contracts are available to keep your tour accessible and up to date.
Can I place the tour on Google Maps or Booking.com?
Yes. Matterport tours can be integrated with Google Street View, making them visible in Google Maps and Search. Booking.com integration is possible via the platform's embed feature.
What if my location is renovated later?
We can update the tour after a renovation. You only pay for a new scan of the changed spaces. For locations that change regularly, we offer maintenance contracts.
Does the tour comply with privacy legislation (GDPR)?
Yes. Faces and licence plates are automatically blurred as standard for shoots in public or semi-public spaces. Specific privacy requirements are discussed in advance.
What's the difference between a Matterport tour and a 360° photo walkthrough?
A 360° walkthrough is individual photos linked together. A Matterport tour is a fully three-dimensional model: visitors navigate freely, view the floor plan from above, and even measure distances. The quality and experience are significantly higher.
Does the tour work on a smartphone or tablet?
Yes, on all modern devices: desktop, tablet, and smartphone, with touch navigation on mobile. The tour can also be viewed in VR with a compatible headset.
Can you scan multiple locations, for example for a hotel chain?
